Amigos de Ẹgbẹ́ [Friends of Ẹgbẹ́] is an initiative led by the Sàlámì family, with the collaboration of members of the Oduduwa Temple of the Òrìṣà.
The project began in 2002 with an annual celebration that promoted joy and solidarity among children, initially in orphanages in the city of São Paulo. In 2005, the focus shifted to the town of Mongaguá, on the southern coast of São Paulo state, where a partnership was established with the Oduduwa Temple of the Òrìṣà, and this celebration became part of the temple's annual calendar.
This non-profit festival is rooted in the philosophy of the orisha Ẹgbẹ́, which addresses issues such as socialization, benevolence, respect, social integration, and ecological and human balance. Even so, it has no religious affiliation.
This social action aims to provide a day of joy, culture, and healthy interaction for approximately 1,000 children, contributing to their development and self-esteem.
The event, held for over 20 years, is organized in partnership with municipal schools and various communities in Mongaguá. The program features cultural workshops, craft classes, theater performances, and many games, including bouncy castles and ball pits.
On the day of this wonderful event, a joyous occasion for the Oduduwa Family, all the logistics for the children are carefully arranged: they are picked up from their schools or communities, accompanied by trained adults, to ensure everything runs smoothly and as well as possible, with various types of entertainment and plenty of food.
In addition, the children receive kits containing backpacks, notebooks, school supplies, hygiene items, t-shirts, flip-flops, and toys.
Throughout the year, we take steps to secure financial support through donations.
Amigos de Ẹgbẹ́ is more than just a party. It's a collective gesture of care, affection, and commitment to the future.
