The Great Family Oduduwa Temple in Abeokuta, Nigeria, marks a new phase in a project conceived by Bàbá King, following the construction of the Oduduwa Temple of the Orishas in Mongaguá, Brazil. Planning for this phase began in 2005, and construction of the first part of the new temple began in 2007. Construction is still underway on the site today. The Great Family Oduduwa Temple houses magnificent and enchanting works of art, each with special significance, including traditional Yoruba sculptures. Several artists contributed knowledge, ideas, and work to this project, including the late and respected Chief Àkànjí Adébísí, his son, Chief Adéṣíṣà Nurudeen Adébísí, Jímọ̀ Ìdòwú Ọlábòmí, Ọlábòdé, and Jósèph Ọlálẹ́yẹ Ọláoyè.
Bàbá King, the spiritual leader of Ẹgbẹ́ Oduduwa, was responsible for conceiving and realizing the Great Family Oduduwa Temple, which houses a variety of styles.
The artworks in the Great Family Oduduwa Temple, beginning with the life-size elephant statues, symbolize Yoruba spiritual power and knowledge. The space is well designed and filled with a variety of traditional artworks depicting òrìṣà and reflecting different beliefs and situations, offering a wealth of information.
The eagle statue was inaugurated in 2019, and it measures 10 meters from base to wingtip. The eagle symbolizes knowledge, representing the rich wisdom of the Yoruba people and their culture.
The house of Ògún is a concrete structure built in 2022, with a large crown atop the roof. It is a unique world attraction.
The high relief is present both inside and outside the house, as well as on the building's crown. Taking into account the materials used, the space, the location, the sculptural work, and even the special chemical product used to protect the entire structure from water damage, it can be said, without a doubt, that nowhere in the world has a construction of this type dedicated to Ògún Agbẹ̀dẹ.
Ẹgbẹ̀ Òrìṣà Temple is the name of the Oduduwa Temple Europe in Slovenia.
Founded in 2003 by bàbálórìṣà Adéṣínà Síkírù Sàlámì – Bàbá King as a branch temple of òrìṣà Temple Oduduwa in Abéòkúta, Nigeria, it promotes religious exchange at both the national and international level, primarily between Europe, Nigeria and Brazil.
In 2007, the traditional Yoruba religion was recognized, declared and registered as one of the official religions in the Republic of Slovenia. In the same year, in the framework of the temple, the musical group “Ire” was founded with the aim to preserve and promote authentic Yoruba liturgical singing and drumming. The continuous and long-term existence of the group is a testament to the great work by the two most active members and leaders of singing and drumming sections, Professor Maja Mesesnel and Blaž Pečnik Àyànṣemi, respectively, who are responsible for continuity and the transfer of genuine knowledge of Yoruba sacred music imparted on them by the priests.
The temple’s core focus is on Yoruba religious practices and the provision of services for the community of òrìṣà worshippers. The temple’s main attractions are annual festivals dedicated to specific òrìṣà, a meeting point for a great number of European òrìṣà devotees. The temple’s activities are headed by ìyálórìṣà Jasmina Audič Awódìran Gbénga. Recognised as a successor and spiritual leader by Ifá and confirmed by Yoruba elders, the highest priests and priestesses of various òrìṣà cults entrusted her with the delicate wisdom and rare knowledge of òrìṣà, accessible to only a handful of people.

We are proudly altruistic!
Oduduwa Europe Portugal is a cultural and spiritual center dedicated to the traditional worship of the òrìṣà with a Yoruba religious identity. Our purpose is to preserve, teach, and experience the ancient theology of Ifá Ọ̀rúnmìlà, Èṣù, Ògún, Ṣàngó, Oyá, Ọbàtálá, Ọṣun, Lógunède, Àjé, Egúngún, Gẹ̀lẹ̀dẹ́, Ìyámì Òṣòròngà, Ẹgbẹ́, Ìbejì, Ọbalúayé, and many other Òrìṣà.
Here, we foster ancestral knowledge through philosophy, spirituality, art, and Afro-descendant culture, promoting social and cultural integration between young people and adults in contemporary Portugal, an open society that values diversity. We also welcome Portuguese speakers from other countries and neighboring Spain, strengthening a united and plural community
Our work goes beyond religiosity: we train new worshippers and priests and encourage personal development through knowledge of the òrìṣà. In the Páteo dos Orixás [Òrìṣà Courtyard], our patron Ifá Ọ̀rúnmìlà guides us in our search for wisdom and spiritual elevation, helping us to overcome ignorance and live consciously.
The proposal of Oduduwa Europe Portugal
We offer a modern, rational philosophy accessible to all who wish to learn and apply the teachings of the òrìṣà in their daily lives. Through sacred practices and methods, transmitted over millennia, we help each person find balance, solutions, and paths to overcome their challenges.
We hold regular activities at the Páteo dos Orixás of Oduduwa Europe Portugal: celebrations, rituals, cultural events, and training sessions — always to illuminate lives through tranquility, prosperity, joy, and meaning.
With the teachings of Ifá Ọ̀rúnmìlà and the òrìṣà, we are reborn.
We are a family of àṣẹ, and we sincerely appreciate your presence.
The Páteo dos Orixás of Oduduwa Europe Portugal fully respects free will. We do not engage in any practices intended to harm others.
Sorcery activities that have negative purposes, such as love binging rituals, separations, divorces, or professional and personal harm, are not part of the Ifá Ọ̀rúnmìlà philosophy and are not welcome here.
If you’re looking for that kind of practice, this isn’t the place for you.
